Bath Panel Replaced After Emergency Plumbing Access in Irvine
A tiled bath panel had to be broken out by an emergency plumber getting to a leak under the bath. We supplied and fitted a replacement uPVC panel — practical, water-resistant, and removable if anyone ever needs under there again.

What happened
There was a leak under the bath, an emergency plumber came out, and the only way to reach it was through the tiled panel. That is normal and unavoidable — the panel is not designed to come off. The leak gets fixed, the plumber leaves, and the customer is left with a hole in the side of their bath and no obvious idea who to call.
Why uPVC rather than tiling it again
A matching tiled panel would have to be rebuilt from scratch and would have exactly the same problem next time anything needs looking at. A uPVC panel is water-resistant, wipes clean, and comes away in minutes if a plumber ever has to get back in. Given how it was damaged in the first place, that seemed the sensible way round.
Fitting and finish
Panels look simple and rarely are. Bathroom floors are not level, walls are not square, and a panel that is cut straight will show a gap at one end. This one was cut to the actual line of the floor and wall, packed to sit plumb, and sealed along the edges so nothing gets behind it.

Common questions
A plumber broke my bath panel getting to a leak — who fixes that?
A joiner. It is a common call and there is no need to feel awkward about it — the plumber did what had to be done to reach the leak. Replacing or rebuilding the panel afterwards is a separate, straightforward job.
Should a bath panel be tiled or uPVC?
Tiled looks seamless but has to be broken out for any access underneath. uPVC comes away in minutes and goes straight back. If there has already been a leak, uPVC usually makes more sense the second time round.
Do you do small bathroom joinery jobs?
