The job after the emergency
Emergency trades do what they must to stop the immediate problem — a plumber will come through a tiled bath panel to reach a leak, because that is the only way in. What is left behind is joinery: opened floors, broken panels, damaged frames. Lifting boards cleanly over joists, keeping them in one piece and reinstating them properly is the difference between a floor that goes back to normal and one that is patched. Yes. Escape-of-water and similar claims are common. We photograph everything before and during the work and keep the scope clear, which is what loss adjusters want to see.
A tradesman damaged something getting access — who fixes it?
A joiner, and there is no awkwardness in it — the plumber or electrician did what was needed to reach the problem. Making good afterwards is a separate, normal job.
